HARRAS / GERMANY MANUAL POLISHING/GRINDING MACHINE Description You are bidding on a antique manual polishing or grinding machine from the German manufacturer "Harras". Body, together with the hand-crank handle, are made of cast iron. Body is green painted and has the following elevated inscriptions: HARRAS - O; SCHMIRGEL and D.R.P. ANGEMELDET. Casted body has an extended clamping device for a maximum thickness of approx. 1-3/8". Contains two vertical polishing wheels with a diameter of 2-3/4" (new probably 3") and two used horizontal wheels with a diameter of approx. 1-3/8" (new probably 2"). In order to convert this polisher to a grinding machine, the top end has a 7/8" wide x 2" long outer funel pocket, that may be filled with water; and at the bottom is a small drawer-type container that will collect the liquide again. Crank is also cast iron with a solid wooden crank handle. Machine turns freely, but could probably benefit from some additional lubrication. Width 4", depth (with handle bar) 9" and height (with handle bar in lowest position) 9". Body height (without clamping device) 5". In nice, antique overall condition. Exact age not known!
