Read our feedback and bid with confidence.   In a quality ancient Egyptian Burial, there were two masks.  The mummy itself has a plaster mask over the head.  It was placed in a sarcophagus mad of wood which usually was decorated to look like the mummy.  The face of the mummy on the sarcophagus was a separately carved wood mask.  This is such a mask dating to the XX dynasty (1196-1080 B.C.).  It is made of cedar and is 10” high.  It is a male rendered in a slightly stylistic form to flatter the deceased.  It was pinned to the lid of the sarcophagus with wood pins of which two remain.
